Sarah Elwell, Assistant Dean for Research, is responsible for the research operations functions in the FAS Division of Science including the development and management of core resources and infrastructure that support research and teaching in the sciences. Her team directly oversees the sequencing, flow cytometry, small molecule mass spectrometry, proteomics, confocal imaging, and helium recovery core facilities and works closely with the other divisional cores including Office of Animal Resources and the Center for Nanoscale Systems.  

She is responsible for the environmental health and safety operations for the Division, including controlled substances and select agents, as well as international affairs associated with research programs abroad.  Sarah also collaborates with other members of the Division of Science Administrative Team in space planning and long-range planning to support the research and teaching needs of the departments, centers, and units in the Division of Science as well as SEAS.
